Summary
During this course we will study flowers and birds in the freehand style, along with brush strokes and ink techniques, to enable participants to build the structures of the subjects and to capture and depict the expression of the spirit.
Description
This course is for anyone who is interested in Chinese flower and bird painting. No prior experience of Chinese painting is necessary. The course will enable you to paint flowers and birds in the free-hand Chinese style. Through tutor demonstrations and instruction, and lots one of one-to-one guidance, you will learn the techniques suitable for this subject, referring to historical masterpieces. You will explore and practise the brush strokes and ink arrangements that will enable you to build the structure of the subjects as well as the expression of spirit, to create beautiful and sensitive art pieces.

Chinese ink and colour
Sized paper and unsized paper
Felt or old blanket (about 1 square metre)
2 or 3 white dishes to be used as palettes
