Description
Figure painting has been one of the three main subjects in Chinese brush paintings, along with flower and bird and landscape paintings. Painting beautiful ladies on silk and sized Chinese painting paper started from Jin dynasty (266-420), mainly revealing the lifestyle of women in the imperial court and rich families. We will paint beautiful Chinese ladies on silk or sized painting paper during this summer school course. Beginners can trace the original classical paintings and then try to colour them, while more experienced learners can prepare a draft of their own, then put silk or sized paper onto the draft and draw the ink line. You will learn how to use fine brush to draw smooth and fluent lines, how to hold two brushes in one hand to wash colour. This course will be taught in enjoyable and encouraging way with tutor’s brief introduction, detailed demonstration and individual supervision to meet different needs, both beginners and more experienced learners are welcome.
