Summary
A watercolour and ink - free flowing weekend, studying trees in all shapes and sizes and seasons and concentrating on looking, seeing and interpreting.
Description
We shall study shapes, colour mixing, trees in groups and individually, taking on board the simplicity, majesty and beauty of trees. Using the most basic of materials, we shall blend colours on the page to create the illusion of depth and interest in the landscape.
Please bring with you
Watercolour tubes and palette (or tin with pans)
Magic sponge
Low tax masking tape
Permanent Indian ink
Water spritzer
Sketchbook
Permanent fine liners (very fine and medium)
Dip pen with nib
2B pencil
Water brush
Selection of brushes
Watercolour paper (cold pressed)
*NB - The image attached is a visual guide. Bring what you have or only purchase the minimum and I will have some backup materials for you to try (eg I have a number of dip pens, nibs, pencils, brushes, and we can always use sharpened sticks!)........I also use a fountain pen with black soluble ink when out sketching.

Jackie Devereux
Jackie is a full time professional artist as well as qualified and very experienced adult tutor, whose unique work is greatly influenced by Japanese art as well as the light of southern France which was her home for over twenty years. Jackie’s award winning work ranges from pure large contemporary works on paper, to delicate pencil, to expressive pen & ink and mixed media - all experimental in nature. She has travelled the world, always with the intention of capturing people and places as she goes. As drawing is an integral part of her work, Jackie enjoys working with groups and sharing her ideas and techniques, encouraging others to develop their own potential. Jackie’s work is well published and collected internationally. She has been a regular contributor to The Artist Magazine, has exhibited widely throughout the UK and France, as well as in the USA and Japan. She has shown with the RWS, RI and with the Society of Graphic Fine Art, variously in Menier Gallery, Southwark; in Mayfair, Bankside and The Mall Galleries in London, and was elected and served as President of the SGFA for five years. Her work is shown in Mandells Gallery, Norwich; The Gallery at Waterperry House, Oxford, and often in Babylon Gallery, Ely and Gallery Holt, Holt, Norfolk.
