During the course we will use various methods such as print, collage, and cut and torn paper to build repeat and random pattern. Media will include acrylic paint, water colour, inks, crayons and fine liner pens. Imagery will be further embellished with found items, beads and stitching. This will be an opportunity to practise skills you may already have but not used for a while and to refine your use of a variety of media. At the end of the workshop you will have a full sketchbook to inspire creative embroidery.

• An A5 ring bound sketchbook with good quality paper, (available from Seawhite or Hobby craft),
• A small piece of fine muslin or scrim,
• PVA glue and/or Pritt in useable condition.
• Colouring mediums - Acrylics, inks, oil pastels or Caron d’ache crayons, Felt tip pens if you have them.
• Water pot and palette,
• A variety of brushes, medium for covering pages and fine for detailed painting.
• Masking tape,
• Paper scissors,
• Craft knife, steel ruler and cutting mat.
• PVA glue plus brush to apply,
• Roll kitchen paper, disposable gloves and apron.
• A basic sewing kit,
• One or two skeins of thread,
• Small beads and sequins if you have them
